Larry James Thompson, age 73 of Lupton, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at The Villa at Rose City. Larry was born on February 12, 1944 to Stewart and Mildred Thompson in Waynesville, MO. He married Janice Sue Neville on October 26, 1974 in Warren, MI. Larry has lived in Lupton for 20 Years, formerly of Warren, MI. Larry is a retired Fire Chief of the City of Warren Fire Department. He was a troop leader in the Boy Scouts for over 10 years in Warren and Rose City. Larry enjoyed hockey, hunting and fishing.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Thompson of Lupton, children, Mark (Tina) Thompson of Sterling Heights, Michael (Betelehem) Thompson of San Diego, CA, Michelle (Douglas) Van Allen of Waverly, NY, Neil (Trina) Thompson of Linden, MI, Heather Chrouch of Lupton, grandchildren, Matthew (Samantha) Thompson, Angel Thompson, Jessica Chrouch, Andrew Van Allen, Jacob Chrouch, Joseph Van Allen, Angelina Thompson, Sarai Thompson, and great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Kailyn and Hunter. In addition to several cousins. He is preceded in death by parents, brother, Neil Thompson and sister, Diane O’Neil.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 2-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 am with viewing starting at 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will follow at Lane Heights Cemetery in Lupton. Pastor Wes Morris of The Rock Church of Fenton will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, Rose City Fire Department or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
