Kenneth Robert Allen, age 59, passed away December 30, 2006 at his home in Grand Junction, Colorado. Kenneth had lived in Grand Junction since 2004 and had previously lived in Eagle River, Alaska. Kenneth Allen was a pilot in the U.S. Army and flew both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. He retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was also a deputy U.S. Marshall and pilot for the U.S. Marshal Service in Anchorage, Alaska. Kenneth was a member of the VFW in Grand Junction, the American Legion in Eagle River and belonged to the Retired Officers Association. Lieutenant Colonel Allen is survived by his wife Diana of Grand Junction, son James (LyShawn) Allen and Grandson Liam of Rohnert Park, California, Brothers Roger (Ann) Allen of Mt. Pleasant, James (Judie) Allen of Pinconning, Frank (Gail) Allen of Superior, WI. and sister JoyAnne (Russell) Hurley of Burton. There are also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 from 2-9 p.m. at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Deacon Gary Gallagher will officiate. A veteran’s service will follow.
