Kenneth Leon Way

Kenneth Leon Way, age 83, went valiantly into the arms of His Lord and Savior on Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home in Gladwin with his family by his side. Ken was born in St. Louis, MI on October 19, 1935 to Kenneth C. and Bernice Way. He was the middle child of 5 (but oldest son) of the family.

Ken was a heating and cooling engineer for GM Truck and Bus in Pontiac, MI for 34 years. Upon retirement in 2000, Ken and Barb moved to Gladwin. They attended Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch, where he was a choir member, deacon, on Missions Board, leader in AWANA and various other ministries. Having been a missionary kid in Bolivia from 1949-1954, Ken had a deep love for missions. He loved to entertain visiting missionaries and see firsthand what God was doing in that country, especially Israel.

Ken is survived by his sisters, Wanda (Tom) Moreno, Jean Rose and Carol (Vic) Nelson; daughters, Becky (Steve) Rine and Connie (Mike) Brown; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth C. and Bernice Way; brother, Charles; wife of 61 years, Barbara and son, Timothy.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Tom Teall will officiate.
