Kenneth A. “Bud” Miller, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born to Frank and Myrtle Miller on June 29, 1931 in Inkster, MI. Bud has lived in West Branch since 1981, formerly of Detroit, MI. On April 9, 1954, he married JoAnn Allan in Detroit. Bud was a Veteran of the Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member at the Alleghany Wesleyan Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and telling silly jokes.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnn Miller of West Branch; children: Kenneth A. (Carol) Miller II of Houghton Lake, MI; Pastor Daniel (Becky) Miller of Luther, MI; Steven (Michele) Miller of West Branch, MI; and Tina (Daniel) Thomas of Findlay, OH; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters: Norma Miller of GA and Gloria (Raymond) Yee of Redford, MI; and brother in law, Lawrence LaFond of Redford, MI; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William and Lawrence, and sisters, Martha Miller and Marilyn LaFond. Bud never met a stranger.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Bruce Asbell will officiate. Burial will be at Selkirk Cemetery.
