Kathy C. Cooper

Kathy C. Cooper, 62 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her home with her sons. Kathy was born on October 11, 1949 to Joyce and Robert Calies in Dearborn, MI. Kathy taught elementary school in the Metro Detroit area after receiving her Master's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1972. She retired in 2005 after teaching first and second grade at Surline Elementary School in West Branch for 22 years. Kathy was a positive, kind, energetic woman that loved her work and helping people. She adored her three rescue cats and dog and enjoyed spending her Summers outside in the garden. Kathy is survived by two sons, Thomas Dalton of Chicago, IL, Nicholas Dalton of Grayling, MI, and sister, Karen Evans of Rapid City, MI. Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will take palce Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Friday, May 25, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial Donations are suggested to Hospice of Helping Hands 335 E.
