Kathryn Pray

Kathryn Pray, age 95 passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home at The Brook in West Branch. Kay has lived in West Branch since1947, previously of Highmore, SD. She was born on July 10, 1924 in Highmore, SD to Roswell and Gladys (Martindale) Wright. Kay was a member of the Faith Alive Church in West Branch, and enjoyed all the church activities. She belonged to the Pleasant Hill Garden Club in West Branch, as well as the Ladies Aux. of the VFW. Kay also volunteered for the Hospice of Helping Hands for many years. She had fond memories of the years her husband Walt was the Ogemaw County Sheriff and all the duties that came along with the job. Kay loved her family and enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them.

Surviving family include her children Daniel (Janet) Pray of Gladstone, MI, Patricia Brown of Michigan City, IN, Rodney Pray of Burleson, TX and son in law Chris Wysocki. She has 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Margaret McKittrick, and Gladys Williams and brother Harry Wright. Preceded in death by her husband Walter, daughter Marjorie Wysocki, brother Ross Wright, and sisters Lenora Fife, and Mary Fiala.

Visitation for Kay will begin on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 3-8PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at the Brookside Cemetery in West Branch. Pastor Chad Deerman will officiate.
