Katherine M. Mier, age 91, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at The Brook in West Branch, MI. She was born on May 20, 1927 in West Branch to Leo and Lavina (Buckel) Linsenman. She had lived in West Branch her entire life. Katherine was a homemaker and Dairy Farmer and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She married Burt Mier on October 7, 1950, he preceded her in death on November 23, 1995.
Katherine is survived by her children, Larry C. (Becky) Mier of West Branch, Kathy A. Clark of West Branch, Joyce (Loren) Brindley of West Branch, and Janet (Scott) Morse of Flushing; grandchildren, Holly (E.J.) McNulty of West Branch, Jamie (Brad) Pattullo of PA, Julie (Dan) Quates of TX, Ryan (Beth) Pidcock of Royal Oak, Sara (Garrick) Griffith of West Branch and Lisa (Matthew) James of Alger; great grandchildren, Bernie, Clark, Grant, River, Willow, Silas, Cadence and Piper; sisters in law, Virginia Linsenman and Claremarie Mier of West Branch; and brother and sister in law, Warren and Annie Mier of Kawkawlin. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene, Robert, and brother in law Don, brother and sister in law, Hursel & Mary; husband, Burt and parents, Leo and Lavina.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Her rosary will be said on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. by Sharon Fritz. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with family arriving for visitation at 10:00 a.m. in procession from the funeral home. Her grandchildren will be her pallbearers. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.
In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Joseph School Endowment Fund.
