Katherine D. Holmquist

Katherine D. Holmquist, age 76, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 in West Branch, MI. She lived in West Branch since 1985, formerly of Gaylord, MI. Katherine was born to Francis and Liela Holmquist on April 20, 1938 in Pontiac, MI.

Katie entertained those around her with her keen sense of humor. She had wonderful observation skills, and not much slipped by her. In those embarrassing moments when you hoped no one saw, Katie was certain to be erupting in laughter! Katie enjoyed her annual trips to Frankenmuth and vacations with her staff. She also loved watching old television shows. Katie became an adopted member of many families over the years, joining them for holiday celebrations. She loved being around people. Katie was blessed by her incredible support staff, Debbie Neubecker, April Drow, and Joy Buchanan, and they would all agree that their lives are richer having been a part of her life. In addition to her support staff, Katie is survived by her friend and guardian, Carla Koch, her roommate, Catherine, and countless staff and friends who have known her throughout the years.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate.
