Karol Kay Freeman, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI. Karol has lived in Lupton since 1984, formerly of Davison, MI. She was born on December 18, 1929 in Iron River, MI and raised by Alphonse and Martha Molle. Karol married Donald Freeman in Iron River on December 24, 1948. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for 30 years, Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church in Burton, MI and graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1948. Karol was the church musician for many years, sang in the choir, enjoyed reading, knitting, playing the piano and loved her family.
Karol is survived by her loving husband, Donald of Lupton, MI; children: Cheryl Hisaw of Flint, MI, Linda (Mark) Bigger of Lafayette, IN, Mark (Marilyn) Freeman of Lapeer, MI; grandchildren: Donald (Jenny) Yost, Kevin (Jenny) Yost, Aimee (Tim) Rizor, Nancy (Frank) Kayden, Norm (Carla) Day, Jeff (Sue) Day, Shiree Rochell; and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be at Steuernol McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City, MI. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Church.
