Karl R. Hawkins

September 21, 1933 — July 10, 2005

Karl "HAWK" Hawkins, age 71 of Lupton, passed away July 10, 2005 at Bay Regional Medical Center in Bay City. He had lived in Lupton since 1984, formerly of Flint. He retired from Buick in 1984 after 32 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #599. He enjoyed fishing and sports. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Patricia of Lupton, children, Steve Hawkins of Linden, Mark (Shelley) Hawkins of Fenton, Elaine (Bubba) Bracken of Flushing, Karla Hough of Clio, grandchildren, Teddie, Michael, Joe, Brandi, Kasha, Amanda, Rick and Cory and great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Tayler, Hunter, Sean and Brooklyn. Also surviving is his brother, Bob (Marjorie) McDonald of Indian River and his sisters, Thelma Knapp of Flint, June Beek of Alpena, Sally (Jim) Smith of Oregon, Mary (Bob) Dady of Rose City, Geraldine McDonald of AuGres, Suzie (Jerry) Sprague of Columbiaville and Kathy McDonald of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 from 5-9 P.M. and Wednesday from 10-1 P.M. On Thursday, July 14, 2005, visitation will also be held at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Mt. Morris beginning at 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 12:00 P.M. Pastor Doug Klein will officate with burial following at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris.
