Karen Lee Dillon

Karen Lee Dillon, age 76, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her home in West Branch, MI surrounded by her loving husband and close friends. She had lived in West Branch since 2000, formerly of Romulus, MI. Karen was born on February 5, 1941 in Sewickley, PA to Norman and Ruth (Cocanour) Morris. On August 20, 1966 she married the love of her life, Roy “Matt” Dillon in Riverview, MI. Karen was a teacher at Trenton High School for Modern Math and Computer Science for 32 years. When she retired from teaching in Trenton, she and Matt moved to West Branch and she taught math at Kirtland Community College in Roscommon, MI for 2 years. Karen was the president of the Ogemaw Hills National Wild Turkey Federation Chapter for 6 years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma and the West Branch Optimist Club. She enjoyed quilting, hunting, fishing, boating, and traveling. Karen was always volunteering with many functions in the community and ready to help where it was needed.

Karen is survived by her husband of almost 51 years, Matt Dillon of West Branch, MI; twin brothers, Ron (Marlene) Morris of Aliquippa, PA and Don (Gloria) Morris of Atlanta, GA; sister, Shirley Amyx of Milwaukee, WI; nieces and nephews, Brianne (Nick) Bergman, Brian (Amy) Morris, David (Jill) Amyx, Scott (Nancy) Amyx, Chris (Amy) Morris and Jeff (Dana) Morris; special friend/adopted daughter, Debbie Newsome of South Lyon, MI; “besties”, Patsy and Gary Marchel of West Branch; and best friends, Mark and Angela Wait of West Branch. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, Stan Amyx.

Cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the ESP Foundation for a math scholarship in memory of Karen.
