Karen Lee Farley, age 55, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in Prescott with her loving family by her side. She was born on April 30, 1965 in Tawas, MI to Peter and Leona (Pokorski) Bassi. Karen lived in Prescott for the past 26 years, formerly of Turner. She graduated from Whittemore Prescott High School in 1983 and attended Kirtland Community College receiving her degree as a registered nurse. She worked for Bortz Healthcare in Rose City for 25 years and Heartland Home Health for 4 years. Karen enjoyed horses, camping, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and playing softball. She especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and family vacations.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Bob Farley of Prescott; children, Justin (Amber Anzicek) Parish of West Branch, Austin (Carly Wilber) Parish of West Branch, Robbie (Macy Lawrence) Farley of West Branch, Andrew (Aerianna Montague) Farley of West Branch, and Lexi (Zeek Millikin) Farley of Kenockee, MI; grandchildren, Quinn Parish, Lincoln Parish, and Nash Millikin; mother, Leona Morrison of Turner; siblings, Pete Bassi, Jim (Veronica) Bassi, Julie Bassi, Mary (Joe) Smith, Pauline Ferns, Rose Farley, Marge (Dave) Currie, Ron (Roma) Bassi, Jeanie (Bubby) Steinley, and Steve (Michelle) Bassi; and several nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her father, stepfather, Carl Morrison, brothers-in-law, Richard Ferns and Ralph Farley, and nephew, Billy Slaterline.
Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private funeral mass will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Whittemore, MI. Fr. Matthew Wigton will officiate.
