May 17, 1938 — January 10, 2025

Roscommon, MI

Joyce Ann Scott, a beloved mother, wife, and music lover, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, in Roscommon, Michigan. Born on May 17, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, Joyce lived a life filled with love, adventure, and the sweet sounds of music.

Joyce's devotion to her family was unrivaled. A full-time mother and housewife, she poured her heart and soul into raising her children, ensuring that her home was a sanctuary filled with love and warmth. When her children grew older, Joyce and her husband Letcher, affectionately known as Buddy, embarked on a new journey together, devoting over 25 years to running the beloved Dearborn landmark, Noah's Sandwich Factory. Their work not only brought delight to the community but also fused their lives in a joyful partnership.

Joyce was a proud graduate of Cooley High School in Detroit, where her passion for music blossomed. A treasure trove of musical talent, she seamlessly played her piano and sang with a gift that captivated those around her. Growing up in the vibrant city of Detroit, she developed a deep love for Motown classics and the timeless songs of Elvis Presley, which infused her life with rhythm and joy. Her ability to play any tune by ear filled countless gatherings with laughter and song.

In addition to her musical pursuits, Joyce shared a deep love for adventure with Buddy. After selling their restaurant, they embraced life on the road, traveling in their motorhome to explore most of the lower 48 states and Canada. Their adventures were marked by unforgettable experiences and cherished memories, deepening their bond as they discovered new landscapes and cultures together.

Joyce's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her son Randy and his wife Lana, daughter Michelle and her husband Rae, and grandchildren Haley, Austin, and Ashley, who carry the warmth of her spirit in their hearts. She is also remembered fondly by her sister-in-law Nancy and many cousins who were fortunate to know her generous nature and indomitable spirit.

Joyce has been preceded in death by her beloved husband Letcher (Buddy) Scott, whose love she cherished deeply. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Barbara Berry, and her parents Jack and Grady Kirkman, who welcomed her into their heavenly embrace.

In her life, Joyce Ann Scott personified love, music, and adventure. Her memory will forever resonate through the hearts of her family and all who were touched by her unwavering spirit. May she rest in peace, her musical laughter echoing eternally in the hearts of those she loved.
