Joyce Elaine Jankens

Joyce Elaine Jankens, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. She had lived in West Branch, MI since 2002, formerly of Essexville, MI. Joyce was born on May 3, 1937 to Clifford and Florence (Neff) Trowbridge in Vermontville, MI. On June 9, 1962 she married Arthur Walter Jankens Jr. in Vermontville, MI. Joyce was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church and Women’s Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her family, snowmobiling, being outdoors, knitting, and camping with her church group.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Arthur Jankens Jr. of West Branch, MI; sons, James (CathyJo) Jankens of Newaygo, MI and Paul (Danielle) Jankens of Bay City, MI; grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Michaela, Avery, Stacy, Catie, and Mark; brother, Vern (Mary) Trowbridge of Vermontville, MI; sister, Donna (Lee) Brown of St. Joe, MI; and helped to raise two special boys to the family, Michael and Matthew Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Florence; sisters, Rita Shupe and Lois Lightner; and brothers, Bud Trowbridge, Richard Trowbridge, and Benny Trowbridge.

A Memorial Service at St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch, MI will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Howard Travis will officiate.
