Joseph Wayne Williams, age 78, died on Saturday, January, 21 2017, at his home in West Branch, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne (Palm) of West Branch, Michigan; his daughter Monica (Rick) DiMaggio of Washington Township; his daughter Lisa Williams of St. Clair Shores; his son, Todd (Pam) Williams of Frankenmuth; and daughter Heather (Todd) Luciani of Macomb; grandchildren, Evan (Marissa), Joel, Clara, Rachel, Jared, Dana, Sydney and Derek; great grandchild Giovanni; brother Darrel (Linda) Williams; sister Phyllis (Rudy) Nartker; and beloved nieces and nephews.
Joe was born on August 29, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Martin and Frances (Wedding) Williams. He graduated from Hazel Park High School. In 1957, Joe enlisted in the army where he served for two years, stationed in Germany. After leaving the service he accepted a position with Klingelhut brick where he worked as masonry for more than 30 years. Joe was a talented builder and worked on many buildings in the metro Detroit area. He was always willing to help friends and family members with their brick projects.
Joe was a devoted husband and father. He married Dianne Yvonne Palm in 1960 and settled in Warren, Michigan where they raised 4 children together. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends, eating out, traveling, fishing all year round, hunting and spending time outdoors. He spent his winters in Florida where he enjoyed golfing, wood carving and telling fishing and hunting stories with his friends. He was proud to be a veteran and loved his country. Family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, self-made man who could fix anything with duct tape.
Joe loved God and enjoyed spending time with his church body. He attended Faith Alive Church in West Branch, MI. Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 2-8 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, Mich. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Faith Alive Church in West Branch, Mich with visitation from 1:00 pm until time of service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life.
