Joseph T. Dematio

Joseph T. DeMatio, age 95 of Richton Park, IL formerly of West Branch, passed away August 26, 2010 at his home. Mr. DeMatio was born and raised on a farm in West Branch. He married his wife of 63 years, Genevieve Neubecker DeMatio at St. Joseph Church in West Branch on June 14, 1947. He was a retired school teacher for the Rich Township School District 227 in Illinois. Joseph is survived by his wife Genevieve, children; Mary Lou (James) Jandura, Annette DeMatio, Lori (Jaime) Lazurus, Daniel (Donna) DeMatio, Jerome DeMatio and Christopher (Anna) DeMatio. 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sr. Vincent Mary DeMatio, Olive Bourque, Dorothy Tobin and Eleanor DeMatio and his brothers, Sylvester, Robert, Donald, Eugene and Vincent DeMatio. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch.
