Joseph S. Lacko

Joseph S. Lacko, age 90 of Roscommon, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at his home. Joe had lived in Roscommon for the past 30 years formerly of West Branch. He spent winters in Florida and enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting and dancing. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion Post #103 the DAV #73 and the KofC all of West Branch and the Eagles and Moose Lodge of both West Branch and Florida. He was an honorably discharged Veteran. Joe is survived by his wife Bernice of Roscommon, children, Larry Lacko and James Lacko both of Ludington, Jeanette (Jerry) Schmitt of West Branch and Dale Lacko of Roscommon, 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Millie Winter, Rose Campbell and Angeline Moeller. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Shane Lacko and his sisters, Julia Boresnik and Adelia Bachula. A Memorial Service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 4 PM. The family will receive friends from 11-4 PM prior to the service. A Rosary will be said by the KofC at 2:30PM. Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate. Memorial Contributions can be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
