Joseph O. Karoub

Joseph O. Karoub, age 70 of West Branch passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at his home. Joe had lived in Ogemaw County since 2000, formerly of Huron Township and Westland. Joe served as a Jaycee International Senator, was chairman of the Beautification Committee of Mills Township and he was employed by Century 21-Horizon Realty of West Branch. Joe enjoyed woodworking, home repair, shoveling snow, working on his lawn, hunting, golfing and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Karoub of West Branch, children, Dawn Karoub of West Branch, Mark (Kimberly) Karoub of Houghton Lake and Dr. Alan (Brooke) Karoub of St. Helen, grandchildren, Justin A., Johnathon J., Joseph M., Justin C., Samantha N. and Joshua N. Also surviving is his brother Robert (Joyce) Karoub of Jackson and his sister Mariam “Sis” Rizk of Dearborn and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Albert A. Karoub and his parents, Albert and Rhoda Karoub. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Mohr will officiate.
