Joseph Michael Zettel

Joseph Michael Zettel, age 56, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 in West Branch, MI with his family by his side. He was born on December 20, 1963 in West Branch to Kenneth and Kathleen (Blum) Zettel. Joe lived in Columbus, OH since 1985. He attended kindergarten at Surline Elementary School and St. Joseph Catholic School for 1st through 8th grade. Joe then attended St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary, WI for high school. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in college at Kirtland Community College and DeVry in Ohio where he received a degree in computer programming. Joe worked for Discover Card for 23 years monitoring and overseeing the electronic security. He worked for Chase as a computer programmer. He was a caring and giving person who enjoyed art and the outdoors.

Joe is survived by his parents, Ken and Kathy Zettel; siblings, James and April (Artman) Zettel, Susanna (Zettel) and Mark Mier, Dominic and Terry (Diffin) Zettel, Daniel and Melinda (Russell) Zettel, Theodore and Melissa (Grewe) Zettel, Eric Zettel (friend Angie Marshall), Samuel and Laci (Blackford) Zettel and Andrew and Sarah (Wangler) Zettel; God daughter and niece, Sara (Zettel) Deyarmond; 20 nieces and nephews, 4 great nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family. A donation will be made to St. Joseph Catholic School.
