Joseph Karafa

Mr. Karafa, age 85, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. He had been a resident of Prescott for all of his life. He loved farming. Mr. Karafa is survived by his wife, Mary Karafa of Prescott, stepdaughters, Corrine (Douglas) Gildner of Prescott and Kay (Gary) Anderson of Charlevoix, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his sisters, Helen Pausits of Prescott, Irene Alexander of Tawas and Margaret Deering of Whittemore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Theresa Karafa and his brother, Stephen. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday April 13, 2004 from 1-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Donald Wolfgang will officate with burial following at Logan Township Cemetery.
