Joseph Edmond Friday Sr., age 71, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away in his home in St. Helen, MI, surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. The son of the late George and Thelma (Morris) Friday and was born on October 19, 1945 in Cheboygan, MI. After serving in the Army for his country, Joe raised his family in Sterling, MI. He was no stranger to hard work, spending most of his career as a home contractor, with a business card reading “HAVE IT DONE BY FRIDAY”. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Helen Catholic Church of St. Helen, MI.
Joe’s passions were cooking, drawing artwork, and building doll houses in his shop. He also enjoyed family gatherings, dancing and golfing. Joe was extremely proud of his family who meant the world to him. He will always be remembered as a kind-hearted man who had the natural ability to make all those around him smile.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Tammy (William) Goodroe, Pamela Disney, Melissa (Matt) Friday, Darla (Jon) Worden; son, Joseph (Kimberly) Friday Jr.; 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 grand pup.
The Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Helen Catholic Church in St. Helen, MI on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Father Larry Boks and Sister Barbara Matievich, O.P. will officiate. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Knights of Columbus in St. Helen, MI.
