John Timothy Okarski

John Timothy Okarski, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at The Villa at West Branch. He was born on May 1, 1945, in Detroit, MI to John and Hattie (Piotrowski) Okarski. Tim lived in St. Helen, MI for the past 40 years, formerly of Detroit.

Tim served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post #416 and the St. Helen Community Baptist Church.

Tim is survived by his grandchildren Sarah McArthur of Mt. Pleasant, MI and Jayson Dhoest of Detroit, MI; great grandchildren Jayson, Leah, Saylor, and Colton; sister Joan (Tom) Julien; and nephews Tom, Mark and Dave.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Anne Dhoest.

A memorial service with veteran honors will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
