John Thomas Kaseman, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his cottage in Clear Lake/West Branch surrounded by his family. He was born on June 1, 1954 in Saginaw to Harold and Beata (Erhardt) Kaseman.
John lived in West Branch for the past 48 years. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1972 and joined the United States Air Force. He worked at Walbridge Aldinger Company out of Detroit for many years. John was a master carpenter and loved to create. He was a wealth of knowledge and could fix and build anything.
John was a member of the Eagles in West Branch, American Legion Post #416, and Carpenters Union. He enjoyed woodworking, building and construction work, and loved every moment spent with his family and friends.
John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Kaseman, daughter, Kristine Distelrath; grandchildren, Jillian Distelrath, Jenna Distelrath, and BrookLynn Gildner; four legged companion, Lucy; brother, Robert (Kathy) Kaseman; aunt, Lorretta (Janis) Griggans, nieces, Amy (Kevin) Kowalzcyk and Becky (Chuck) Grindle; special nephew, John Szkubiel; sister in law, Shawn (John) Szkubiel; brothers in law, Michael (Sue) Ferrell and family, and Danny (Rose) Ferrell and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Patty Parent, and son, John “Buddy” Kaseman II.
A Celebration Open House will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at “The Pole Barn” 2170 Oakwood Dr. West Branch, MI 48661 (Clear Lake).
