John O. Saladine

John O. Saladine, age 74, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at his home. John was born on May 10, 1931 in Merrill, Michigan and moved to the Alger area in 1945. He lived most of his life with his half-brother's family. He never married but lived as one of Fred and Lila Saladine's many children. He was a farmer and lumberman by trade. John is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was also a great-great-great uncle to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers Joe and Fred, Fred's wife Lila, two sisters Annabelle and Pearl and two half-sisters Louise and Rose. Also preceeding John in death were many nieces and nephews. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Monday, February 27, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Elder Richard Hamilton will officiate. Burial will follow at Alger Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Heartland Homecare & Hospice. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends. God be with you.
