John M. Rau Jr.

John M. Rau, Jr. age 43 of West Branch died suddenly on Sunday January 8, 2006 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 31, 1962 to John (Jack) and Peggy (Steinhauser) Rau. John married Marta Bala on October 29, 1983 at Houghton Lake, MI. John is survived by his wife Marta; his son, John (Jack)Rau III and Nicholas Rau both of West Branch; his mother, Peggy Rau-Hamilton; his sisters Marcia (Jeffrey)Young and Deborah (Ron)Dale all of West Branch. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Mary M. Bala of West Branch and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his father Jack Rau, a brother Mark Rau and his step father Lorn Hamilton. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2022, Past President of A.Y.S.O. League, Assistant Soccer Coach at Ogemaw Heights High School and was an avid hunter. Visitation will be on Monday from 7:00P.M. to 9:00P.M. and on Tuesday from 12P.M. to 9:00P.M. at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, West Branch. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2:00P.M. from First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
