John “Jack” Fredrick Scott, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at his home in Alger, MI. He had lived in Alger for the past 13 years, formerly of West Branch, MI. Jack was born to John and Effie (Brindley) Scott in St. Clair, MI on January 1, 1930. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Post #370 in Skidway Lake, and served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. Jack enjoyed woodworking.
Jack is survived by his sister, Lila Scott-Hewitt; half sisters and brothers, Diane Graybill, Pat Graybill, Linda Graybill and Rex Graybill; aunt, Geraldine Stewart; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Douglas Scott and Devere Scott, sisters, Janet Armstrong and Lorrain Munger, and half-sister, Deborah Graybill.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
