John Ehinger

John "Jack" Ehinger, age 82, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Jack was born March 7, 1925 in West Branch to Anthony and Elizabeth Ehinger. He served in the U.S. Army and married the former Jane Winter in 1954. He was a digger operator for Consumers Power Co., retiring in 1983. Jack was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the K of C Council #2022 and the Spring Creek Hunting Club. Jack is survived by his wife Jane of West Branch, children; Gloria (Ken) Searfoss of Gladwin, Diane (Frank) Carlu of Alger and Dennis Ehinger of West Branch, grandchildren; Ken (Becca) Searfoss, Tommy (Tesa) Searfoss, Shane Diffin, Shawn (Dave) Nelson, Shannon Langley, Jason Carlu, Cami Carlu, Jimmy Carlu, Matthew Carlu and Sally Ehinger and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Tyler Searfoss. Also surviving are his brothers, Roy Ehinger, Fritz Ehinger and Gerry Ehinger. He was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Andrea Carlu and Peter Ehinger, his brothers, Edward, August, Bill and Del and his sisters, Marie Buhlman, Doris Gillespie and Donna Therbergson. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Bortz Health Care for their special care given to Jack and his family.
