John Edward Allen

John E. Allen, age 85, of Alger, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 7, 2008. He had lived in the Alger area all of his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Alger and he enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. Survivors include his children, Peggy (Bill) Nelson, Ed (Lori) Allen, Dale (Marsha) Allen, and Don (Jackie) Allen all of Alger, 11 grandchildren; Tyler, Torry, Alison, Kristen, Dale Jr., Megan, Amy, Angela, Tim, Chris and Craig and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Marion Powers and Catherine Zettle both of West Branch. He was preceded in death by his wife Eileen and two brothers, Robert and Ralph. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alger.
