John "Cat" Wallis Belleau

June 2, 1940 — April 12, 2019

John Wallis “Cat” Belleau, age 78, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home in Prescott with his family by his side. He was born on June 2, 1940, in Sault Ste. Marie to J. Hank and Anne (Wallis) Belleau. John lived in Prescott for the past 20 years, formerly of Sleepy Hollow, Ill (Chicago). He served in the United States Air Force for 5 years as a captain and navigator of B-52s, then for 2 years in the Air National Guard. On February 6, 1981, he married Marlene Girard-Baldwin in Midland. He owned and operated Edgewood Greens Golf Course in Prescott for 20 years after retiring from Dow Chemical where he worked as a Sr. Account Executive in sales for 28 years. John was a member of the Lions Club and Moose Lodge both in Prescott. He enjoyed golfing, tennis, jogging and puzzles.

John is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Marlene Belleau of Prescott; children, Laura (Brian) Belleau of Tucson, AZ, Sean (Karen) Belleau of Tucson, AZ, Mary (Danny) Sanchez of Chicago, IL, and William (Jenny) Baldwin of Algonquin, IL; grandchildren, Sofia, Fletcher, Christopher, Rachel, Andrew, Matthew, Elizabeth, Caroline, Tyler, Olivia, Ava, Ruby, Jack and Amelia; great granddaughter, Lexi; and siblings, Barbara (Jerry) Ojibway, Virginia (Herbert) Freeborn and Fredrick (Patricia) Belleau. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael Belleau.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be veterans honors with a time of sharing starting at 4:00 p.m.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
