Joan Marie Fous

Joan Marie Fous, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, MI. She was born on July 25, 1946, in Flint, MI, to Gordon and Ruth (Moesch) Wallace. She lived in St. Helen, MI since 2014, formerly of Flint.

On February 18, 2000, she married Larry Fous in Mt. Morris, MI.

Joan was known for her impeccable sense of style, but nothing brought her more joy than buying and shopping for her loved ones. In her free time, she loved sewing, cooking, baking, fishing, dancing, and golfing. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known as the fun Mimi that was always making sweet treats.

Joan was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in St. Helen, MI. She actively contributed to the community through her involvement in this organization, demonstrating her dedication to helping others.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, Larry Fous, her son Mike (Peggy) Ellis, her daughter Mary (Mark) Redmond, her stepdaughters Tessa (David) Trembley, Charlene (James) Crowl, and Angela (Mike) Taylor, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Morgan, Taylor, Max, Olivia, Griffin, Samuel, Bryce, Parker, Savannah, Shelby, and Holley. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: J.J., Mac, and Ellis. Joan is further survived by her sister Theresa (Jeff) Quigley, sister-in-law Teri Wallace and special friend Victor.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, son Matthew Ellis, her brother Gordon Wallace, and her sisters Kay Wallace and Marion Wallace.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Joan's memory.
