Joan M. Reetz age 87 of West Branch, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Joan was born in West Branch to John and Mabel (Smith) Burt on October 17, 1925. She had lived in West Branch for all of her life. Joan was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Holy Family Altar Society and the CCW and the Rose City Lions Club. She enjoyed bowling on the Thursday Brunch League sponsored by Dantzer’s Standard Service, playing cards, quilting, sewing and making baby blankets for the grandchildren. Joan loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Joan is survived by her children Bruce (Michelle) Reetz of West Branch, Brenda Reetz (Michael Kelly) of Grand Ledge, Debbi Thomas of Rose City, Jim (Tobi) Reetz of Littleton, CO, David (Mary Kay) Reetz of Mt. Pleasant and Jeffrey (Carrie) Reetz of West Branch, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and her twin brother John (Doris) Burt of Gladwin. She was preceded in death by her husband Calvin in 2005, her brother Charles Burt and her sisters, Bessie Anderson, Jessie Blade and Erma Burt. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 2:30 to 9:00 p.m with a ladies CCW Rosary at 6:00 p.m. On Friday, Joan will lie in state at Holy Family Catholic Church, Klacking Creek beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Sylvester Taube will officiate with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
