Jimmy Ray Rose, age 67 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday January 25, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Jim had lived in West Branch since 2001, formerly of Washington Township, MI. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the NRA. He worked for Valenite Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 2009. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR and he was a Hot Wheels collector. Jim is survived by his wife Elizabeth Rose of West Branch, his only son Jimmy (Heather) Rose Jr. of Wixom, daughters; Jenny (Ed) McKee of Waterford, Lisa (Phil) Montague of Howell, Kerry (Terry) Conklin of Hartland, Meleny (Matt) LaFave of Whitemore Lake, Sheila (Dave) Alfano of Howell and Kim (Wes) Cunningham of Midland and his grandchildren, Amber, Myranda, Christina, Danielle, Alayna, Makayla, Elizabeth, Eric, Elliot, Emily, Ella, Breanna, Mira, Amanda and Scott. Also surviving is his sister, Barbara (Doug) Clements of Virginia and his brothers Steve (Kay) Mullins of North Carolina, Frankie Mullins of Virginia and Roger (Teresa) Rose of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Beatrice Lester, his father Clay Rose and his brother Danny Mullins. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Friday January 28, 2011 from 12-9 p.m. On Saturday, Jim will lie in state at the Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tom Teall will officiate with burial following at Edwards Township Cemetery, West Branch.
