Jesse E. Johnson

Jesse E .Johnson age 86, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Jesse had lived in the Gladwin area since 1991, formerly of Knight Dale, N.C. Jesse began working as a coal miner in Kentucky at the age of 13 then became a deputy sheriff in Pike County Kentucky. After moving to Michigan he worked as a security guard then was employed for Ford Motor Company for over 10 years in the 1950’s. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #89 of Belleville and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jesse is survived by his sisters Barbara (Quincy) Justice of Tennessee, Ruth (Tilden)Thacker of Kentucky and Jonah (Lois) Johnson of Kentucky, grandchildren Brian Johnson and Shannon Johnson both of Gladwin and Jan Johnson Jr., his great-grandsons Dyson and Dreden, his special nephew Jerry (Teresa) Johnson of Alger and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, his daughter Vonda and sons Jesse Johnson Jr. and Jan Lester Johnson and his brothers Ruben Johnson, Elmer Johnson, Palmer Johnson, Malvary Johnson, Tucker Johnson and Adam Johnson and his sisters, Mary Mullins and Eunice Holman.
