Jeanette Neveau, our beautiful, funny and talented mother, grandmother and grandma-great, passed on to her next life Friday, July 13, 2018. She was born in 1933 in Black River, MI to the late John & Anna LaVigne; she married her loving husband, Frank R. Neveau in 1951 and he preceded her in death; along with 3 infant sons. She will be forever missed and cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Jeanette was a member of St. Helen CCW & a volunteer for Knights of Columbus Bingo, St Helen Community Center and St Helen Friends of Library, St Vincent de Paul, Roscommon, St Helen commodities food distribution & Special Olympics. Her favorite day of the year was playing Mrs. Claus to her husband Frank’s Santa Claus at the St Helen K of C Christmas party.
Jeanette was an early entrepreneur; she owned & operated Cabin Ceramic Shop in St. Helen, MI, where she taught many people the art of creating & painting ceramics; she also made dolls; sewing dresses for them, as well as for her children. Jeanette was an avid quilter, taking great pride in the beautiful quilts she created, and many were gifted to her children and grandchildren. At Christmas time, the ceramic shop turned into a wreath-making factory, where 100’s of beautiful wreaths were made, some of which were donated throughout the community. She loved playing Bingo, going to the Casino, cooking, baking, & canning. Summers revolved around picking berries and preserving them for winter enjoyment in pies and jams. She was a fan of her grandchildren’s activities and praised their accomplishments. She loved her St Helen community, and tried to stay in touch when she moved back to Bay City. We are forever grateful for the loving care Jeanette received at Sheryl & Ben’s home for the past 2 years
Jeanette is survived by her children: Sheryl (Ben) Macnowski, Frank (Janet) Neveau, Jack (Dawn) Neveau & Anna (Larry) Guzdzial, as well as her 10 grandchildren: Andrea (Craig) Taglauer, Rebecca (Andrew) Krawczak, Kristine Neveau, Kurt (Lee) Neveau, April Neveau, Jonathan Neveau, Matthew (Mandy) Miller, Jennifer (Chris) Gepford, Justin (Jackie) Guzdzial and Ryan Guzdzial, and 19 great grandchildren; her sister, Marie Lee of Oscoda; and many sisters & brothers in law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
