Jean P. Hinckfoot, age 92, passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Horizon Senior Living in West Branch, MI. She had lived in West Branch since 1979, formerly of Richmond, MI. Jean was born on September 8, 1924 to Arthur and Pauline (Kohlhagen) Engel in Romeo, MI. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Romeo, Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond, and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City, MI. She was also active with all of the Ladies Auxiliaries with all of the churches. Jean enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending the winter months in Florida.
Jean is survived by her caregiver and friend, Carol (Theo) Hilts of West Branch; sisters in law, Kathleen Engel of Minden City, MI and Dorothy Kohlhagen of Casco Township, MI; nieces and nephews, Connie (Larry) Russell of Romeo, MI, Robert Kohlhagen of Casco Township, MI, William (Sarah) Engel Jr. of Murphy, TX, Paul (Janice) Engel of Minden City, MI, Robert (Susan) Engel of Petoskey, MI, Mary (Arthur) Anderson of Spring Lake, MI, Fred (Laura) Engel of Raleigh, NC and Margaret (David) Johanson of Morgan Hill, CA; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hinckfoot and brother, William Engel.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI will begin on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Hedy Alcock, Minister will officiate. Burial will be at Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, MI on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Alex Steward officiating.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City and Trinity Lutheran Church in Richmond.
