Janette Joan Allen

Janette Joan Allen, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home in West Branch. She lived at Lake Ogemaw in West Branch since 2004, formerly of Woodhaven, MI. Janette was born on September 3, 1954 in Detroit to Ralph and Grace (Taubitz) Brown. She married William Allen in Toledo, OH on September 21, 1990.

Janette graduated from Lakeview High School in St. Clair Shores in 1970. She worked as a vet tech for a veterinary clinic after graduating from high school. She then took a job at St. John’s Hospital in the emergency room. While raising her family, she attended school at night to receive an associate’s degree in 1989 for criminal justice from Macomb Community College. She worked for the FBI for a total of 25 years. She was in the Detroit Division for 13 years and then transferred to the Bay City Office for 12 years.

Janette was a member of the Moose Lodge and Optimist Club in Skidway, Elks in Houghton Lake and the Arenac Sportsman Club. She also served as the vice president for the Ogemaw County Humane Society. She was an animal lover and never turned an animal away.

Janette is survived by her loving husband, William Allen of West Branch; sons, David (Lindsay Loan) Creagh of Maryland and Steven (Georgie Cardinal) Creagh of Belleville; daughter, Kimberly Allen of Brownstown; grandchildren, Stefaney King of Brownstown, Nikolas King of Riverview; and Brendan Klein of Rockwood; great grandchild, Kenneth Adams of Brownstown; brother, Ralph Brown of West Branch; brothers-in-law, Dale Metz of Brighton and Norman Allen of Alger; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janice Metz.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled at this time.
