James W. Cross

James W. Cross, age 73, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Saginaw Covenant Healthcare. James lived in West Branch since 2000, formerly of Saginaw. He was born to Albert and Marjorie (Watkins) Cross on November 7, 1939 in Saginaw, MI. James was a police officer for the City of Saginaw for 25 years. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police in Saginaw, MI and was a member of the American Legion in Saginaw. James enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling and loved spending time with his grandchildren. James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty of West Branch, MI, his sons, James (Pam) Cross of Birch Run, MI, Jeffrey (Lori) Cross of Belleville, MI, his daughter, Joli Cross of West Branch, MI and 11 grandchildren: Jayme, Jael, James, Jason, Joanna, Teddy, Cassidy, Dorian, Zildjian, Gianna, and Carmandeigh. Also surviving is his brother, Clifton (Arlene) Cross of Frankenmuth, MI, his brother-in-law, James Gretzinger of West Branch, MI and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Gretzinger. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
