James Robert Olive

James Robert Olive, age 78, passed away suddenly at his home in St. Helen, MI on Friday, March 6, 2020. James was born on April 13, 1941 in Detroit, MI to Benjamin and Virginia (Patterson) Olive. He lived in St. Helen for the past 26 years, previously of Washington. James served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1962-1965. He enjoyed boating, old cars, and dancing.

James is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Kevin) Green of West Branch and son, Robert (Joann Jones) Olive of Houghton Lake; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Anthony, Christina, Trisha, and Ashley, along with several great grandchildren; and brothers, Steve (Kathy) Olive of White Lake and Michael Olive. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dee in 2016.

James wishes are to have his ashes buried at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. A committal service with military honors will be held at a later date.
