James Henry Morgan

James Henry Morgan, passed away on Saturday April 5, 2025, in Alger, MI, at the age of 88. Born on November 24, 1936, in Detroit, MI, James led a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family and community.

James served honorably in the United States Navy, embodying the values of commitment and sacrifice that shaped his character. Following his military service, he began a distinguished career as a police officer in Sterling Heights, where he earned the rank of sergeant before retiring. His contributions to public safety and his unwavering commitment to protecting his community were a source of pride both for him and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

After retiring, James found a peaceful retreat in West Branch, MI, where he lived for two decades. He was previously a longtime resident of Sterling Heights and also spent time in Tennessee. His love for nature and adventure led to many memorable moments spent camping and traveling with family and friends, experiences that enriched his life.

James is survived by his four sons, James (Kathy), Jeffrey (Christine), Jack (Ellen), and John (Anita). He took immense joy in his family and was a proud grandfather to Dana (Dirk) Davenport, Katie (Mario) Ramirez, Jeanelle Pagano, Richard Pagano, Thomas Morgan, Zachary (Shelby) Morgan, Jordan Morgan, and Sydney Morgan. His legacy continues through his six great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them.

Additionally, James is survived by his beloved sisters, Rosemary, Peggy Ann, and Patricia, as well as his girlfriend, Lorraine Stroh, who brought companionship and joy into his later years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruby (Nicholas) Morgan, and his brother Jack.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
