James Elliott Rau

James Elliott Rau, age 58, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Mi. He was born on June 22, 1964, in Flint, MI to James Douglas and Janice (Wright) Rau. He lived in Prescott, MI.

James loved to mow lawn for people. He liked working at his job at Maple Ridge Hardwoods and hanging out with his dad watching the Lions games. He also volunteered his time at St. Vincent dePaul in West Branch. He loved collecting Star Wars and sci-fi memorabilia and was a DVD collector, enjoyed arcade games, aliens, and Star Trek. He was a Steven Spielberg and John Carpenter fan.

James is survived by his father James D. Rau; sister Shannon (Larry) Illig; nieces Tiffany and Brittany Illig; and many aunts and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother Janice Rau, stepmother Jean Rau, and many uncles and grandparents.

Cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.
