James Carroll

Mr. Carroll, age 89 passed away at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had lived in West Branch since 1937, formerly of Capac. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, the First United Methodist Church, the Good Sam Club and he helped to start the West Branch Little League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting, sports, camping, pitching horseshoes, golf, cribbage, euchre, woodworking and bowling. Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife Ruth Athleen Carroll of West Branch, children--George (Barbra) Carroll of Richmond, Bob (Leona) Carroll and Betty (Tom) Campbell both of St. Helen and Jim (Janie) Carroll of West Branch, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, his sister Isabelle Petz of Capac and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Bill, Pat and John and a sister Elizabeth Worden. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday July 28, 2004 from 5-9 P.M. and Thursday from 1-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Friday July 30th at the St. Helen Community Baptist Church in St. Helen. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
