Ima Jean Rose

Ima Jean Rose, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her home in West Branch, MI with her children by her side. She was born on April 19, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, KY to Ben and Lillie (Reynolds) Childress. Jean was a waitress at the Hub Restaurant and Alley’s Pickin Chicken. She was also employed with the Mill End Store and Selley’s Cleaners. Jean enjoyed collecting dolls, bowling, dancing, fishing, playing cards, Euchre, and horseshoes. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, but mostly spending time with family and friends.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Dale) Coln of West Branch; son, Dale (Denise) Johnson of West Branch; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Wangler of West Branch, Melissa (Brad) Bertossi of West Branch, Lynnette (Jeremy) Card of Sterling, MI, and Megan (Alex) Henry of West Branch; great grandchildren, Jason Jr., Emily, Cori, Triniti, Faith, Taite, Markie, Ariel, Brynn and Alaina; brother, Buddy (Eva) Childress of Chico, CA; and sister, Glenna Kimbrell of West Branch; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings.

Cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.
