Hugh M. Jackson

Hugh M. Jackson, age 86 of West Branch, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Mr. Jackson had lived in West Branch since 1982, formerly of Swartz Creek. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and he enjoyed working outdoors, cutting wood, building houses and garages, hunting and fishing. Hugh is survived by his wife Joanne Jackson of West Branch, children, Delores (Larry) Glencer of Taylor, Ronald Jackson of Battle Creek, Marilyn (Charlie) Sant Angelo of Homer, Nancy Jackson of West Branch and Cathy Jackson (Stan Rosebrugh) of Litchfield, 7 step-children, 35 grandchildren with one special helper/pal Randy Steelman, 29 great-grandchildren and his sister Hope (Fred) Hart of Sunfield. He was preceded in death by his first wife Hazel Jackson, son Duane Jackson, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Family would like to thank his daughter, Lisa Steelman for being his special caregiver and all of the Heartland Hospice staff for their care. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012 until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Chad Deerman will officiate.
