Howard L. Anderson, went to be with his Lord Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Howard was born in Detroit and was a plumber/pipefitter. He retired from General Motors in 1995. Howard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the VFW Post #3774, the American Legion Post #0370, and was the past master of the Ancient Craft Lodge #567 of Detroit/Roseville and Imlay City Lodge #341. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Rose City. Howard is survived by his wife of 54 years Edna, four children, Karen Anderson, Steven (Tammy) Anderson, Ruth (Greg) Westphal and Laura(Tom) Houghton and his sister Lorrene (Sam) LaFata. 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and two foster-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents Emerson and Florence Anderson and his brother Edwin. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Rose City. Pastor J. Daniel Stoneback will officiate with burial at Alger Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch or to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rose City.
