Howard Harshman

May 6, 1917 — February 12, 2003

Mr. Harshman passed away at his home. He had lived in West Branch for the past 60 years. He was a WW II Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division. He was a member of the Shriners, the West Branch Masonic Lodge #376, a life member of the VFW Post #6468 of Rose City, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 692 of Bay City and the Churchill United Methodist Church. He retired in November of 1983. Mr. Harshman is survived by his wife Harriet of West Branch, children--Sharon (Bob) Turow of Bay City, Doug (Judy) Harshman of Rose City, Todd Harshman of Stockbridge, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Polly Sumner of Flint, Florence Lee of Saginaw and Hazel Whitmore of Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by a son Hubert Harshman, a grandson Mike, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will begin Friday from 2-9 P.M. at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Friday. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Churchill United Methodist Church near Selkirk. Rev. Thomas Spencer will officate with burial following at Selkirk Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Churchill United Methodist Church.
