Garner LeForce

Henry Garner LeForce, fondly known as Garner, was born on September 12, 1932, in Wofford, KY, to his loving parents Arthur and Gladys (Chitwood) LeForce. He peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, in West Branch, MI. He lived in West Branch since 1968, formerly of Carleton, MI.
 
Garner's journey in the banking industry began in Carleton and spanned over four decades. He started at Manufacturing National Bank in the 1960s, during the Detroit riots, before moving to State Savings Bank in West Branch (now PNC Bank).  He retired from PNC in Howell, MI after over 40 years, where he dedicated his skills until his well-deserved retirement.
 
A proud alumnus of Airport High School in Carleton, MI, class of 1950, Garner also honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Outside of work and service, he found joy in various hobbies such as golfing, hunting, fishing, socializing with friends, and embarking on snowmobile adventures to the Upper Peninsula.
 
Among Garner's proudest accomplishments were his memberships in the Kiwanis Club and West Branch Chamber of Commerce. He was also a cherished lifetime member of the Elks in Flat Rock, MI.

He is survived by his children Christi (Kent) Schubert of Chesaning, MI, Scott (Barb), Donald (Kim), and Terri (Perrie) Mason all of West Branch. His memory will continue to be cherished by his grandchildren Karl (Julia), Christian (Katie), Tim (Heather), Chelsea (Michael), and Hannah; as well as his great-grandchildren Olivia, Harper, Thomas, and Owen. He will be dearly missed by his surviving sisters UnaNell (Don) Bone, Beulah (Ben) Stein, Vera LeForce, Coleen (Tim) Wysong; sister Nancy Utterback; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 49 years Donna (Hidebrand) LeForce and sister Nancy Utterback.

A graveside service will be held at a later time.

Memorial contributions can be made to Compassus Hospice in West Branch or a veteran organization of your choice.

Henry Garner LeForce leaves behind a legacy of dedication to family, community service, and a zest for life that touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his kindness and joyful spirit live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
