Helen M. Walters

Helen M. Walters, age 85, passed away Friday, June 22, 2007 in Merrill, Michigan surrounded by her loving family. Helen lived in West Branch her entire life. She was a member of the Moose Lodge of West Branch, enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and farming. Surviving family members include her son Jim “Chicken Man” Walters of West Branch, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Also surviving Helen is her sister Geneva “Dottie” Elwood of Merrill and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Helen in death was her husband Kenneth O. Walters, son Jerry Walters, daughters Katherine Steelman and Diane Whitney, son Wayne Walters and parents Harry and Leona Knight. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, June 25, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and continue on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the funeral home. Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate. Interment will take place immediately following the service at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Branch. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands of West Branch or V N A Hospice of Saginaw County.
