Helen Glee Bailey

March 24, 1927 — August 1, 2004

Mrs. Bailey, age 77, passed away at her home. She had been a resident of Rose City since 1948, formerly of Hale. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and enjoyed quilting, baking, reading and gardening. Mrs. Bailey is survived by 5 children; daughter Lona (Ralph) Hamilton of Clare and sons Robert Paul (Marci) Bailey of Geneva, FL, Michael Lee Bailey of Rose City, Alan Jon Bailey of Rose City and James Dean (Lynn) Bailey of Sanford, FL. Also surviving are sisters Velvae Heistand of Lupton, Olive (Ray) Swiderski of Prudenville and Margory (Joe) Brown of Prescott; brother John Jr. (Betty) Thompson of Rose City, sister-in-law Barbara (Tom) Dobbins of Romulus and brothers-in-law Roy (Helen) Bailey of Lupton and Bill Brown of Rose City. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey is preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Stephen Bailey, son Nicholas Stephen Bailey, Jr., sisters Leah Gifford and Elda Thompson, brother Walter Thompson, brother-in-law Bill Bailey and sister-in-law Marion Brown. Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will be on Wednesday August 4, 2004 from 2-9 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home in Rose City on Thursday August 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Malson officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Rose Township Cemetery.
