Harley D. Barnes

Harley D. Barnes, age 74 of West Branch, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Saturday August 23, 2008. He had lived in West Branch since 1988, formerly of Port Huron. Harley enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and talking with the animals. Harley is survived by wife Caroline of West Branch, daughter, Susan (Don) Bragg of Deckerville, MI, daughter, Vicki (Steve) Ostrander of Fort Gratiot, daughter, Jeannette (Ken) Powers of East Bethany, New York, son, Wally II (Debbie) Bird of Macomb Twp., son, Jim (Meg) Bird of St. Joseph, MI, daughter, Paula (Louis II) Gray of East Pointe, son, Robert Bird of South Carolina, brother, Lyle (Janice) Barnes of Fort Gratiot, brother, Larry (Pam) Barnes of Harrogate, TN, brother, Ronald (Ina) Barnes of Ruby, MI, brother, Robert (Linda) Barnes of Fort Gratiot, brother, Delbert (Pam) Barnes of Lexington, sister Wanda (Russ) Ingles of Lapeer, and sister, Sandra Kaye Barnes of Port Huron. Also surviving are several grandcildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his 1st wife, Charlene Barnes, daughter, Bonnie L. Jeske, father, Delbert Barnes, mother, Thelma Boglitsch, and brother, George Barnes. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Tuesday August 26, 2008 from 3-9 PM. Funeral Service at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church will be held Wednesday August 27, 2008 at 11:00 AM with visitation prior to service from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place on Thursday August 28, 2008 at Woodland Cemetery in Port Huron Twp. at 11:00 AM. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ogemaw Hills Christian School.
