Guy I. Swanson

Guy I. Swanson, age 74 of St. Helen passed away April 7, 2005 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He had lived in St. Helen since 1988, formerly of Center Line. He was a member of the VFW #3688, the Fire Chief Association and was a Head Elder at Hope Lutheran Church. He retired as the Deputy Director of Public Safety in Center Line. Mr. Swanson is survived by his wife Judie of St. Helen, children--Florence Bass of North Carolina, Guy Swanson of Warren, Gary (Teresa) Swanson of Waterford, Lori (Jeff) Vinette of Roseville, Kemmy Parisi of Fraser and Grant (Kathy) Swanson of Bossier City, LA and his stepchildren, Lori (Ken) Tomasko of Macomb, David Rozenboom of Aurora, CO., 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Swanson and his sister, Violet Mettala. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday April 8, 2005 from 1-9 P.M. Visitation at the Hope Lutheran Church in St. Helen will be held on Saturday April 9, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Andrew Gruenhagen will officate with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church, St. Helen.
